Under an out-of-touch Liberal Transport Minister, the industry all but crumbled during the pandemic and in the months that followed. From mass layoffs, cancelled flights, divisive vaccine mandates, lost luggage, stranded travelers, millions in lost revenue, or the now infamous “ArriveScam” app, the Liberals failed Canadians across the transport industry. They refused to listen to stakeholders and their solution to everything was over-regulation. Now they have introduced Bill C-52 (An Act to enact the Air Transportation Accountability Act) which will add regulations but still no responsibility. It’s just more toothless legislation proposed by a government incapable of delivering on their promises.
