Press Release – Enabling Accessibility Fund
Stephanie Kusie, Member of Parliament for Calgary Midnapore, would like to ensure organizations in her constituency are aware that the Government of Canada is now accepting applications from eligible applicants interested in receiving funding from the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) through Employment and Social Development Canada.
The EAF funds organizations, businesses and other eligible recipients to help improve accessibility for people with disabilities by reducing the capital costs of renovation, construction and retrofit activities; and the provision of accessible technologies in workplaces and communities across Canada.
The Standard Grant Application for Funding can be submitted under either of EAF’s two funding streams: the Workplace Accessibility Stream or the Community Accessibility Stream. Applications must be submitted by July 26, 2017.
“Accessible communities and workplaces are essential components for the inclusion of people with disabilities in many community services and programs,” said Kusie. “This, in turn, increases their opportunities to engage in community life and the local economy.”
