Message to Constituents
Dear Constituents of Calgary Midnapore,
I write this message during a period of immense anxiety across our nation.
The Liberal government has left Canada in a terrible, vulnerable position. Justin Trudeau’s decision to resign and prorogue Parliament left our country leaderless, and has created an ideal environment for President Trump to impose huge tariffs and threaten our sovereignty. Justin Trudeau knew of these threats for many months before they came into place yet made the decision to leave us rudderless. I have heard from many constituents who are feeling incredibly stressed, angry, and worried about the future of our country. The fact is, we should have never, ever been left in this position. With all that Canada possesses – our resources, our hardworking people, and our abilities — we should be much more self-sufficient than we are. The last nine years of Liberal rule have destroyed our economy, our industries, our identity, our finances, and our ability to defend ourselves.
Who was right there beside Justin Trudeau as he plunged our nation into this desperate state? None other than Mark Carney, Trudeau’s economic advisor for the past 5 years. Recently crowned the Liberal leader this past weekend, Carney will be sworn in as the next Prime Minister of Canada this morning – without earning a single vote from the electorate. I asked constituents in my last newsletter how they feel about this process – you can see the overwhelming results below.
It is also expected that Mark Carney will soon approach the Governor General to ask for an election – as he cannot take a seat in Parliament to face Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre – or Canadians — on March 24th without first being elected as an MP. Canada desperately needs a leader who will put our people and our country first, for a change. I am proud to stand with Pierre Poilievre and my Conservative colleagues who will protect our economy, defend our sovereignty, bring home production and strong paycheques and never back down.
