King Charles III Coronation Medal Nomination

Nominate a deserving resident of Calgary Midnapore before September 30, 2024 for a King Charles III Coronation Medal.

The medal will be awarded to 30,000 deserving Canadians of all ages who have made a substantive difference to their community. As a nominating partner, MP Kusie has been given twenty medals for members of our community to receive.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this honour, a person must have:

  • Made a significant contribution to the country, a province, territory, region or community, or made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
  • Been alive on May 6, 2023, the date of His Majesty’s Coronation. Nominations can be made posthumously, as long as the nominee was alive on that date.
  • To be nominated through the office of MP Stephanie Kusie, the individual must live within the riding of Calgary Midnapore (map found here).

Please note, nominations from immediate family members will not be permitted.

Guidelines for the Selection of Nominees:

  • Nominations should focus on the achievements of persons who have helped build the Canada of today, including (but not limited to) youth, volunteers, educators, veterans and health care workers.
  • Nominees may be selected for:
    • Their long service and good conduct as a volunteer or member of an organization.
    • Having demonstrated high professionalism.
    • Or performing a deed or activity that brings great credit to Canada.
  • Through their achievements and sustained contributions, nominees will have distinguished themselves from others employed in the same field.
  • The Medal is to be awarded to individuals only, not to groups or couples.
  • Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Award Process:

  • All nominations will be provided to an independent non-partisan selection committee to determine the appropriate Coronation Medal recipients.
  • Recipients will be invited to celebrate at a private award ceremony in early 2025.
